K-Pop is now so widespread that it is not only successful in making achievements in its home country. Recently, BTS (Bangtan Boys) and BLACKPINK (Black Pink) have successfully become the only Korean artists to enter Rolling Stone's "The 50 Best Songs of 2020" list.

On Monday (7/12) December local time, American pop culture magazine Rolling Stone published its annual selection of the 50 best songs of the year. BLACKPINK successfully entered the list at No. 13 with "Ice Cream" which is their summer collaboration song with Selena Gomez which is also included in their eighth track "THE ALBUM".

Rolling Stone cites the co-writing credit of Ariana Grande and describes her as the "power move on the American airwaves" of "the queen of Korean girl groups". Not only BLACKPINK, BTS has also successfully taken a place on the list.

BTS's song "Dynamite" is listed at No. 7. Their first English single which was released in August was also included in their latest album "BE".

Rolling Stone mentioned how "Dynamite" made history by giving BTS the No. Their first 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (also a first for all Korean artists). They also described the single as “BTS's unmistakable voice, touching the spirit of the eighties disco,” and highlighted Jungkook's opening line (in which he mentioned the words 'Rolling Stone').

BTS also previously made Rolling Stone's "Best 50 Albums 2020" list with "Map of the Soul: 7". This group's album is quite high ranking, namely at position 16. Rob Sheffield wrote, "The kings of South Korean pop didn't make it easy for their style (or language) to conquer America, they just won over audiences in their own way."

On the other hand, BTS has also continued to make history on the Billboard charts. BTS has now achieved the fastest accumulation of the first three positions on the Hot 100 in over 42 years. Previously the Bee Gees did it in two months and three weeks with songs from the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack which began in December 1977.

BTS is also the fastest artist since The Beatles to get their first three spots. The Beatles are known to have scored three top Hot 100 songs in two months and three days in 1964.
