The Korean film “The Call” starring Park Shin Hye and Jun Jong Seo has now been broadcast on Netflix.
This mystery thriller genre film tells the story of a woman named Seo Yeon (Park Shin Hye) who returns to her family's home.
While reconnecting the landline, Seo Yeon receives a phone call from a foreign woman named Young Sook. Seo Yeon immediately realizes that they live in the same house but are 20 years apart. Their telephone conversation has finally begun to lead to dangerous and unexpected consequences.
Along with the screening of this film, Netflix also released a video showing various behind-the-scenes scenes and comments from the director and the cast. Park Shin Hye and Jun Jong Seo introduced the setting for the film, and explained how a series of events that occurred was the result of a phone call. Not only the film cast and crew, this video also shows the people behind the film industry giving their opinions about Seo Yeon and Young Sook's fight.
Director Lee Chung Hyun also talked about choosing the main character. When asked about Park Shin Hye, he said that taking a role outside of his comfort zone is an opportunity for Park Shin Hye to prove to the world that she can give her best in every genre. On the same occasion, Lee Chung also praised the rising actress Jun Jong Seo. "He was born to play the role of Young-sook," he said.
Other actors also gave their comments about the film, wherein Kim Sung Ryoung said that it would be very stressful like riding a roller coaster, while EL thought "The Call" was a very innovative film.
