Netflix officially announced the production of the project "Kingdom: Ashin of the North" which is a sidequel to the Korean horror series "Kingdom" season 2 which has captivated the world.
“Kingdom: Ashin of the North” will tell the story of Ashin, a mysterious figure whom Lee Chang's (Ju Ji Hoon) group meets while traveling north to find the origin of the infected person.
Jun Ji Hyun's appearance as Ashin at the end of 'Kingdom' season 2 was a surprise success as well as aroused the audience's curiosity. In this highly anticipated additional story, Ashin will unravel the mystery of his identity.
Actor Park Byung Eun who plays the head of Royal Command Min Chi Rok in the second season of "Kingdom" has also been confirmed to star in "Kingdom: Ashin of the North". This new story will provide a detailed overview of Ashin's past in the northern region and how the fate of the two characters will relate to one another.
Kim Seong Hun, the director of season 1 of 'Kingdom' who was also involved in the production of the second season, will work together with scriptwriter Kim Eun Hee to uncover the origin of plants that can raise the dead, as well as the secrets behind infected people. Baram Pictures, BA Entertainment, and Studio Dragon will also collaborate to present this special episode.
