BTS's Comeback Album 'BE' Wins Impressive First Week Sales

The Bangtan Boys (BTS) album “BE” was recently released on November 20, 2020. In terms of K-Pop albums, most sales are usually done within the first week of the album's release, so a lot of attention is usually focused on how the album does in that amount of time. .

BTS is off to a great start with their latest album. Yesterday, Friday (27/11), Hanteo Chart announced that BTS's new album "BE (Deluxe Edition)" had sold 2,274,882 units in its first week of sales (from November 20 to 26).

The album has now officially reached the second highest first week sales in Hanteo Chart history. This album was only beaten by BTS's previous album "Map of the Soul: 7" which sold 3,378,633 units in its first week.

The figures for "BE (Deluxe Edition)" are impressive considering that unlike the group's previous albums, which came in several versions, so far there is only one version of the album available for purchase. Apart from that, the album price is also much higher than "Map of the Soul: 7".

According to a report by Korean news outlet Sports Today, BTS is currently estimated to have made around 89 billion won from the first week sales of "BE (Deluxe Edition)". On the other hand, BTS is known to have been nominated for the prestigious 2021 Grammy Awards world music award.

The Recording Academy announced this year's nominations for the annual Grammy Awards, and BTS has secured their first ever award. The group's hit song "Dynamite" has earned them a nomination in the Best Pop Duo / Group Performance category.
