BLACKPINK managed to make new history with their first full album entitled "THE ALBUM".
On Monday (26/10), YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK had sold 1,209,543 copies of the album "THE ALBUM".
This figure was obtained from domestic sales of 871,355 copies, then 319,300 copies in the United States and Europe, and 18,888 copies of limited edition vinyl album sales.
With this, BLACKPINK became the first K-Pop girl group to sell more than 1 million albums and win the title of 'Million Seller'.
When released on October 2nd, "THE ALBUM" also managed to top iTunes album charts in a total of 57 countries. While the physical album managed to rank second on the Billboard 200 chart and Official Chart in the UK, which is again a new record for a girl group from South Korea.
BLACKPINK also managed to maintain their position at number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart for the third week, making BLACKPINK the first K-Pop girl group to stay in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart for three consecutive weeks.
