The nurse outfit that BLACKPINK's Jennie wore in the new MV “Lovesick Girls” has recently become a hot topic for dragging health and medical unions.
Previously, the cut scene from BLACKPINK's 'Lovesick Girls' MV which was released on October 2 sparked protests from netizens, aimed at the coordi / stylist who determines the clothes the members will wear for filming.
This problem is getting bigger after the health and medical workers union in Korea on Monday (05/10) yesterday questioned the cut scene by commenting,
“In the music video from YG Entertainment entitled 'Lovesick Girls', one of the members is dressed as a nurse. This is very far from the nurse's attire at this point, from hats, tight and short skirts, and red high heels. It's a costume that further enhances the nurse's sexual objectification. "
The day after, YG Entertainment then clarified by commenting as follows,
“First, we express our deep respect for the nurses who are always on the side of the patient and fighting on the front lines. “Lovesick Girls” is a song that questions why we keep finding love when we are hurt by it while also delivering a hopeful message.
In the music video for 'Lovesick Girls', the scene with the nurse and patient reflects the lyrics, "No doctor can help me when I'm lovelorn." There is no particular intention for that, but we are concerned about deviant views.
We ask that you think of music videos as an independent art genre, and we would really appreciate it if you could understand that each scene was created with the aim of none other than expressing the music.
The production team is currently considering and discussing whether the scene should be edited. " (www.kpopchart.net)
