BLACKPINK managed to break the girl group record by pre-ordering their first full album.
On Friday (04/08), YG Entertainment's agency announced that the album "THE ALBUM" had reached 800 thousand pre-orders in just 6 days.
This figure of 800 thousand pre-orders was obtained from a total of 530 thousand pre-orders in South Korea, as well as 270 thousand pieces from the United States and Europe.
This is the highest album pre-order record ever achieved by any K-Pop girl group in South Korea.
YG Entertainment stated, “After pre-orders for the limited edition full album 'THE ALBUM' opened, the album sold out in seconds. The pre-orders for the regular version album also exceeded the number that was beyond our expectations, so we are currently in the process of producing more albums. "
'THE ALBUM' is BLACKPINK's first full album since debut which will be officially released on October 2, 2020.
Before releasing the album, BLACKPINK had revealed two pre-release songs, titled "How You Like That" and "Ice Cream".
