During the early half of 2020, NCT 127 released the album "Neo Zone" and the repackage album "Neo Zone: The Final Round", each of which contained title tracks titled "Kick It" and "Punch". Both of these songs achieved satisfactory results on the music chart.
When asked about the success of the songs "Kick It" and "Punch," Taeyong said, "First, I'm very grateful to the fans, and I also want to thank the members. Everyone worked very hard."
"I remember Doyoung was very happy when 'Kick It' climbed on the charts," he continued. "Seeing the members so happy, I'm really proud. I'm glad that we saw results that matched how hard we worked, and that made me think, 'This is possible'. I'm very grateful."
On July 7th, NCT 127 celebrated their 4th debut anniversary. Taeyong said, "It's been more than four years. Honestly, we were not successful from the start. We arrived at our place step by step, and thanks to that, I think we grew up well, experiencing everything we had to experience."
"When we first debuted, we didn't know what to do for performance or promotion, but seeing the group do it all now with familiarity and convenience, that's when I felt that we were much more experienced now," he continued.
Regarding how NCT 127 became a prominent sub-unit in NCT, Taeyong said, "There are several units under the NCT brand, but NCT 127 has something that feels like home. Therefore, it's even easier to talk with members. We have see each other's vulnerability, and we have overcome mutual difficulties. It's hard to explain, but there is a strong bond in the group.
Explaining his goal for NCT 127, Taeyong said, "I want each member to be recognized for their abilities, to the point where everyone can have their own solo. If that happens, wouldn't we be the best team? And just like the SM artists before us , our dream is to be recognized as artists. "
