SM Entertainment has decided to postpone the release of the physical album 'WayV', entitled 'Awaken The World'.
The NCT unit in China was previously scheduled to release their first full album since their debut titled 'Awaken The World' on June 9, 2020 at 18:00 KST.
Just a few hours before the release, now SM Entertainment announced that they would postpone the release of the physical album 'Awaken The World'. Even so WayV will still release digital albums and music videos online.
As stated by the agency, "All songs from WayV's first full album entitled" Awaken The World "and the music video for the main song" Turn Back Time "will be released online on June 9. However, we have found errors in the costume accessories on the physical album, so we have to postpone the release of the physical album to make adjustments to the costume. "
"We apologize for our mistakes when shooting the album, and from now on, we promise to do a more thorough check even for the smallest accessories. We will make further announcements regarding the release of the physical album. Once again we ask for understanding from the fans, "concluded the agency.
Previously WayV had indeed caused controversy because of the costume accessories they used on the teaser album 'Awaken The World'. Fans found a pin that said swear words against the Japanese race on the WinWin costume, as well as 'Agent Orange' on the Kun costume which is the name of a dangerous chemical used to kill Vietnamese people during the Vietnam war.
After being controversial, SM Entertainment previously immediately re-uploaded the edited WinWin and Kun teaser photos. (www.kpopchart.net)
