Korean BLACKPINK Fans Raise Some Protest Tags on Twitter on May 2. They claimed they were disappointed and complained about the lack of fan service of the members as a group.
Jennie BLACKPINK (Black Pink) recently held a V Live broadcast in order to promote the collection of eyeglasses from the brand that signed her as an advertising star. But the response from Korean fans was not all positive.
On May 2, a number of Korean BLACKPINK fans raised several protests on Twitter. They claimed to be disappointed and complained about the lack of fan service of the members as a group.
Twitter fans' choruses on Twitter include, "They do a little music but make a lot of money," "We better wait for idols who go to the army for two years because it feels the same," and, "I shouldn't have this feeling but I'm a little disappointed with BLACKPINK. It's true that the comeback was postponed because of the agency, but they aren't restricted to communicating with fans via V Live. "

This reaction was triggered by the fact that BLACKPINK's last V Live as a group was August 2019. The latest V Live yesterday was only 5 minutes containing Jennie promoting her new sunglasses collection.
Korean fans are allegedly disappointed because BLACKPINK is not a western artist so it is very important to have fan service and communication with fans. Although the comeback is out of their control, Jennie and friends are expected to be diligent in greeting fans by releasing covers or just chatting. So far, only Lisa is quite diligent in releasing cover dance.
Fans were very happy yesterday just to see them for 5 minutes. It was said that if they really tried to hold a V Live or Instagram broadcast like they used to, it wouldn't make their hiatus terrible for fans. They even compare it to BTS (Bangtan Boys) and Twice fan services, which are almost there every day.
Fans don't blame BLACKPINK given the lack of music content and are always placed behind by YG. They are just frustrated because of the lack of fan service and communication.
"I understand them, I feel the same and it also worries me, I want to think maybe YG doesn't let them release content on V Live or YouTube for brand contract matters but I'm not sure if that's the problem. Just look at large groups like BTS and Twice (who also has an external contract with a big brand), they always try to communicate with fans so I don't know what to think about right now, I just hope they will comeback soon, "commented fans.
"Lisa is quite diligent in greeting her fans but it's not like I doubt that others can't do the same thing if given the opportunity. But as already mentioned the main problem is they don't have this type of service as a group at all, personally even if I'm constantly biased "releasing content, it feels unsatisfactory if I have never seen the group in full," concluded the other.
