South Korea's Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Named Park Yang Woo discusses how the impact that BTS brought and their reasons are so popular.

South Korea's Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Park Yang Woo recently underwent an interview session with Korea Now. He successfully surprised the interviewer because he proved himself to be a BTS (Bangtan Boys) fan.

"As the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea, I cannot help but become a BTS fan. The Korean government recognizes the contribution that BTS makes in advancing the nation's culture and pop arts," said Park Yang Woo.

To confirm the minister's words, the interviewer gave a quiz by bringing photos of BTS members' faces and asking Park Yang Woo to guess them. Interestingly, Park Yang Woo did not boast about calling himself a BTS fan.

As soon as the photo of RM (Rap Monster) was shown, Park Yang Woo immediately answered it. "Yes, I think everyone in the whole world knows his name. He is the leader, RM. We should know about him," Park Yang Woo said. The minister also easily found out the face of Jimin BTS.

Because Park Yang Woo managed to convince himself that he was a BTS fan, the interviewer no longer showed the remaining face of Jungkook cs. The discussion then turns to how the impact of BTS on Korean society and their reasons are so popular.

"Culture can make people happy at the same time the country becomes prosperous and strong. In fact, a lot of Korean cultural content such as the film 'Parasite' and BTS songs that make it all come true," continued Park Yang Woo.

"First and foremost, the music itself is original. BTS songs, raps and dances are different from what has been done in the West. I strongly believe that BTS's popularity among people outside of Korea is due to the fact that this group is set within the framework of Korean culture that unique, "continued Park Yang Woo.

"Then, there is a message in every song. For example, the series 'Love Yourself' offers a message of hope and courage to overcome the anxiety and confusion experienced by teenagers and young adults," added Park Yang Woo.

"Another factor is the change in the way music is distributed and consumed. BTS uses YouTube and other online platforms to promote their music and actively communicate with fans. This has caused a global fandom phenomenon," concluded Park Yang Woo.
