Today, Thursday (25/7), the "News A" program broadcast by Channel A delivered an exclusive report regarding the building owned by Big Bang Daesung. Daesung bought the building in 2017 for 31 billion won (around Rp. 367 billion).
"News A" reported that the five floors in the building, contrary to what was reported in the official building list, became an adult entertainment business place. "News A" further reported that some of the businesses mediated prostitution services.
The building is located in the heart of Gangnam district and is likely to produce 100 million won (around Rp. 1.18 billion) per month just for rent. According to building records, floors 5-8 should be operated as restaurants and photography studios.
"News A" production staff went straight to the building and found that there were no adverts from the business outside the building and that there were three floors that were not accessible via an elevator. The eighth floor, which should contain a photography studio, is fenced in and cannot be accessed by the public.
Correspondents confirmed that the businesses could only be entered by official members and hide the nature of their business from the general public. An internal source stated that there was also the practice of prostitution in these businesses, showing that customers were with women for several hours before leaving together.
"News A" also interviewed neighbors who stated that the business was only open at night and that often women entered rooms full of men and were transported to expensive imported cars.
Daesung's real estate representative stated, "Daesung is the owner of the building but he is in no way affiliated with his business. He thinks that the business operates because they say they have business licenses. We will check whether illegal business activities are ongoing and cancel our leases with violating tenants law, "he said.
