A big fire hit the forest area in the northeast of the South Korean region in almost the entire Sokcho area at 7:17 pm local time. This fire burned around 500 hectares of land and around 400 homes.

The government finally announced this fire as a national emergency. A number of South Korean celebrities also started sending donations one by one starting from IU, Kim Heechul to Yoon Jisung ex-Wanna One through a number of charities.

Shortly after, Song Joong Ki and Nam Joo Hyuk were known to have contributed to each of them sending around 30 million won (around Rp. 372 million). Then there are Jung Il Woo, Siwan and K.Will who donated 20 million won (around Rp 248 million).

Cube Entertainment's agency also contributed 50 million won (around Rp. 620 million). Kim Yoo Jung, comedian Shin Hyun Seop and comedian Song Eun Yi each donated 10 million won (around Rp 124 million).

Furthermore, script writer Kim Eun Sook ("Descendants of the Sun" and "Goblin") and the Hwa & Dam Pictures production house contributed 20 million won each (around Rp 248 million).

T-ara Hyomin also reportedly sent relief supplies including water, ramen and instant rice to an emergency shelter in Toseongmyeon. "I sent relief supplies because I thought if it was the best choice that could directly help victims at the scene," said Hyomin.

Bangtan Boys (BTS) and Kang Daniel's fandom also reportedly took part in sending donations to the victims. Meanwhile, Black Pink is known to postpone a press conference for a comeback scheduled for today to honor the victims. The release of IU's short film "Persona" on Netflix was also postponed for the same reason.
