On Saturday (30/3), Hunan TV broadcast "My Brilliant Masters", a program that resembles the format with "Master in the House". Because they also have four permanent members called "students" to study with a "master" from a particular discipline for three days and two nights.
One of the actors who starred in this program is Ethan Yu, who is the husband of beautiful actress Chu Ja Hyun. After broadcasting the first episode, there were many people who began accusing "My Brilliant Masters" of plagiarizing "Master in the House".
Responding to this controversy, SBS also gave its official statement on Monday (8/4). Based on information from the SBS, they have never exported the "Master in the House" format abroad.
"We have never exported the 'Master in the House' format (to other countries)," said the SBS. "We are checking broadcast content and considering how to respond."
Earlier in 2018, Hunan TV was also accused of plagiarizing another SBS program, "My Ugly Duckling". Meanwhile, "Master in the House" stars Lee Seung Gi, BTOB Sungjae, Yang Se Hyung and Lee Sang Yoon.
