Seungri announced he would retire from the entertainment industry through Instagram posts made today, Monday (11/3). Following the sudden announcement made by the artist, YG Entertainment released a statement.
YG Entertainment revealed that the retirement decision was made by Seungri himself. The youngest member of the Big Bang did not consult before announcing via Instagram.
"Seungri's retirement announcement was not a decision made after consulting YG, but a decision made by himself," said a source from YG Entertainment at YTN. "He was even more depressed because this incident occurred just before his military service," added the source.
"To be honest, there is no definite detail revealed about Seungri during the last one and a half months of the police investigation. Seungri felt more guilty for causing damage to the people around him," continued the source.
Meanwhile, Seungri was accused of providing prostitution services for foreign investors and sharing recordings and photos of sexual activities of customers in chat groups with colleagues. Sunday (10/3), Seungri was named a suspect by the police and was banned from leaving Korea during the investigation period.
