Reaching 20 Million Subscriber, Blackpink Again Breaks the Record! - Blackpink has set a record in the Korean music industry. YG Entertainment's girl group managed to become a K-pop star with the most YouTube subscribers.
Quoting Billboard, on Friday (3/22/2019) the official YouTube channel owned by Blackpink has received 20 million subscribers. This group of four women is one of 20 artists who have reached the subscriber with that amount.
Blackpink is known to have their own youtube channel. Unlike other popular idols like BTS or NCT 127 who use agency YouTube channels. So Blackpink can share music videos and other videos related to their activities exclusively on their channel without being mixed with other artists' videos at their agency.
Last month, Blackpink made their first debut on the United States television program. They performed DDU-DU DDU-DU songs on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
The Girl Group, fronted by Jennie, Jisoo, Rose and Lisa, is rumored to be comeback soon this March. Next spring, they will also be touring the United States for the first time. They will also become the first K-Pop girl group to hold a concert at Coachella in April.
Previously, the DDU-DU DDU-DU music video had also broken the record for K-Pop group clips with the most viewers. Until last January 2019, the music video had been seen more than 600 million times on YouTube.
