Involved in Burning Sun Bribery Case, This Former Police Arrested - A former police officer was arrested after being involved in a bribery case for the Burning Sun nightclub.
Judge Song Kyung Ho from Seoul Central Court on March 15 issued an arrest warrant for Kang, a 44-year-old former policeman.
Kang was accused of accepting bribes to cover up and obstruct the investigation into the Burning Sun club last year.
Kang currently serves as an executive at a cosmetics company and is thought to play a significant role in the relationship between the police department and the club. While serving as a police officer, he had served at the Gangnam Police Station.
In July 2018, a cosmetics company led by him held a large-scale promotional event at the Burning Sun club. At the same time, Burning Sun was reported to the police because there were underage children who were seen drinking alcohol expensive at the club.
While undergoing the investigation, Lee as the CEO of Burning Sun claimed to have paid 20 million Won (IDR 250 million) to Kang to close the investigation into the case of a minor in his club. (www.kpopchart.net)
