Sung Si Kyung revealed aespa's experience being surrounded by sasaeng fans on a plane.
Singer Sung Si Kyung recently shared his story about a negative experience the girl group aespa had with sasaeng fans. In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel on June 1, 2026, Sung Si Kyung recounted a time when he was on a plane with aespa and witnessed the group members being surrounded by extremely annoying fans.
In the video, titled, "I Heard About Kim Junsu's Journey From Idol Singer to Winner of His First Musical Acting Award," Kim Junsu revealed his negative experience with sasaeng fans while he was with TVXQ. Responding to the story, Sung Si Kyung expressed his concern, saying, "aespa must have had a hard time. Sasaeng fans were on the same plane as them," adding that after passing through passport control, around 30 fans waited and surrounded them.
Sung Si Kyung also noted that the aespa members looked extremely exhausted, showing his empathy for the situation. He asked, “The manager can’t watch all four members at once, so no one can stop this?” Hearing this, Kim Junsu bitterly replied, “It’s still the same,” and added that there are times when sasaeng fans even sit near them, revealing that idols still face similar challenges.
When Sung Si Kyung expressed anger at the fans’ overstepping boundaries, saying, “Those people who cross the line aren’t true fans,” Kim Junsu shared his own experience. He recalled, “Looking back on my time, you just gave up.” Kim Junsu recounted how, upon activating his phone number, he immediately received a call on his way to the dorm. “When I answered, they said, ‘Did you think I wouldn’t know?’ At that time, I was completely devastated,” he said.
