After Tzuyang's confession rocked the Korean YouTube world, a bold clarification from YouTuber Hong Sound has revealed the truth behind the "under-the-table" promotion controversy.
YouTuber Tzuyang has taken the content world by storm in South Korea. After it was revealed that the mukbang YouTuber was exploited by the former CEO, it was revealed that his past conflict actually saved Tzuyang.
On July 11, YouTuber Hong Sound posted a video entitled, “The former CEO who exploited Tzuyang, I will now tell the truth” which revealed the truth behind the "under-the-table" promotion controversy that rocked the Korean YouTube world.
In his video, Hong mentioned that YouTuber Cham PD at that time received a lot of sharp criticism. When news of “under the table” promotions spread, Tzuyang was also suspected of being involved in the practice. Tzuyang also denied the accusations through a video and directed criticism at Cham PD.
Cham PD later posted an apology video, and both Cham PD and Tzuyang held live broadcasts to explain the situation. However, netizens still criticized Cham PD for the alleged attack on Tzuyang. Cham PD's family also received physical attacks while outside the house.
Hong Sound explained that Cham PD did not actually attack Tzuyang directly. During his broadcast, Cham PD only responded to comments asking whether Tzuyang was also involved in "under-the-table" promotions. Cham PD's ambiguous answer caused rumors to spread that Tzuyang was involved, making the situation worse.
In reality, it was the former CEO who carried out the "under-the-table" promotion without Tzuyang's knowledge. The former CEO attempted to change public opinion by posting messages online, but when those efforts failed, he contacted Cham PD directly. He admitted that he was threatened with severe punishment and even thought about ending his life with Tzuyang.
After hearing this, Cham PD did what the CEO asked to save Tzuyang. In a live broadcast with Cham PD and Tzuyang, Tzuyang's emotions erupted into tears which only worsened Cham PD's image.
Despite receiving more than 80 thousand comments containing hate speech, Cham PD felt satisfied because he was able to save someone. "Still, it's okay because I can save someone. I'm a businessman, so even if I don't use YouTube, I can still make a living doing other things," he said.
In addition, Hong Sound also became aware of Cham PD's heroic actions after seeing Tzuyang's latest video revealing the abuse committed by her ex-boyfriend, which forced Tzuyang to start streaming.
"You don't need to worry about me. How is your health? You don't need to feel guilty. It's a happy ending if you can broadcast cheerfully for the fans who have been waiting for you. I'm much older than you and have more experience in society. I can handle it. I hope you stay healthy and spread positive energy to others."
