Minhwan initially did not tell his father about his decision to divorce Yulhee. After finally having the courage to talk about his divorce, Minhwan received his father's support.
Minhwan now holds the status of a widower with three children. Member F.T. The island announced its divorce from Yulhee, Laboum's former member, in early December 2023. Minhwan currently has custody of his three children.
In the latest episode of the program "The Return of Superman" on July 14, Minhwan talked about his divorce from Yulhee. The man initially praised his father for taking good care of him.
"I really respect and love my father. I think he is the embodiment of the ideal father figure in his generation. He really cares about me and makes sure I don't feel lacking," said the man who was born in 1992.
Minhwan added, "When my children were born and when I raised them, I often thought, 'My father must have felt the same way when raising me'." The man was then asked whether he consulted his father regarding his divorce from Yulhee.
Minhwan answered that at first he didn't tell his father about his decision to divorce. "Most of the time I don't discuss things with him. However, he always respects my opinion, especially regarding things I'm worried about," he answered.
"I actually didn't tell him when I divorced. I only told him after some time had passed," added Minhwan. The man then revealed his father's reaction regarding his decision to divorce Yulhee.
Minhwan's father apparently provided support for him. "When I told him, he said, 'Very good. You must have thought about it a lot. I just want you to live happily. I respect your opinion'," he said.
Minhwan is very grateful for this support. "I find him admirable. He understands the challenges I face and respects my decisions. That's what makes him a great father to me," concluded Minhwan. (wk/charity)
