The drama Woori The Virgin is still perched in the top 10 trending dramas in Korea throughout the first week of this month, according to Good Data Corporation data.
Towards the final episode in the third week of June, Woori The Virgin is indeed getting more and more stomach churning, making both curious and gripping.
This drama tells of the life of Oh Woo Ri (played by Im Soo Hyang) who tried to maintain her chastity before marriage but ended up getting pregnant after an accidental artificial insemination during a medical examination. He lives with his mother Oh Eun Ran (played by Hong Eun Hee), and grandmother Seo Gwi Nyeo (played by Yun Woon Kyung).
Entering episode 10 this week, Woori is caught in a romance with Raphael (Sung Hoon), the owner of the sperm that entered his body. And the conflicts between the characters are even more exciting to watch in this drama that airs every Monday and Tuesday on Viu. Here's the list:
1. Mother-daughter double date ends up falling apart
It's not only Woori who can date the guy she likes. His mother and grandmother turned out to have each other's hearts. Oh Eun Ran is dating Jung Hyung Sik (played by Ahn Shin Woo) and Seo Gwi Nyeo is captivated by Jung Chun Sam (played by Jang Yong Bok). Oh Eun Ran then wanted to introduce her lover to the mother. They agreed to do a double date at a restaurant.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Oh Eun Ran and Seo Gwi Nyeo were surprised by an unexpected fact. Jung Hyung Sik is the son of Jung Chun Sam, as well as Oh Eun Ran who is Seo Gwi Nyeo's daughter. Oh Eun Ran asked her mother to end her relationship with Jung Chun Sam, but the mother refused. 3. Lee Ma Ri devised an evil plan
Lee Ma Ri (Hong Ji Yoon) accidentally signs the divorce papers with Raphael. Lee Ma Ri did that when Raphael came to his house with the divorce papers and forced his way in. To prevent Raphael from checking into the house, Lee Ma Ri immediately gave her signature on the divorce papers. The incident made Lee Ma Ri angry at her rash act. Lee Ma Ri's annoyance grew when she found out that Raphael was close to Woori.
Byeon Mi Ja (Nam Mi Jung), Lee Ma Ri's mother, has the idea to make Woori miscarry with dangerous fluids. The baby that Woori is carrying is believed by Byeon Mi Ja as the reason why Raphael approached Woori. Lee Ma Ri invites Woori to meet at the cafe and gives him a drink that has been mixed with a dangerous liquid. What about the fate of Woori and the baby?
4. Chairman Kim's secret that Kang Jae already knows
Kang Jae (Shin Dong Wook) is curious about the secret underground chamber within the Diamond Medical Foundation. Kang Jae arrives at the hospital with Park Na Hee (Han Jae Yi) and discovers an interesting fact. The patient who ran away due to the stabbed wound and his face was covered with bandages because he had just had plastic surgery elsewhere. The patient was found to be unable to speak Korean and had left his belongings at the hospital.
The patient's glasses and bag are similar to those worn by the criminal who Kang Jae suspects to be Chairman Kim's associates. Kang Jae then remembers the secret room he found at the Diamond Medical Foundation. He only realized that the secret room serves as a place for plastic surgery after a thorough examination and found traces of splattered blood. Kang Jae believes that Chairman Kim is doing a new business, namely plastic surgery in the basement of the Diamond Medical Foundation for criminals who want to change their identities. Is Kang Jae's guess true?
5. Woori is in danger because of a necklace
No Man Chul (Kim Sun Woong) once gave Lee Ma Ri a necklace with the woman's initials. The necklace is still kept by Lee Ma Ri even though he intends to throw it away. When Byeon Mi Ja was looking at the necklace, Lee Ma Ri threw it in annoyance. From inside the necklace came out a memory card which, upon inspection by Lee Ma Ri, contained a list of criminals whose faces had changed. Lee Ma Ri realizes that No Man Chul once boasted a list that could earn Chairman Kim a lot of money. No Man Chul intentionally hid the list in his memory card and inserted it in the necklace that was given to Lee Ma Ri. Lee Ma Ri's shock is not over yet because the Diamond Medical Foundation is suspected to be related to the identity changes carried out by the criminals.
Byeon Mi Ja advised Lee Ma Ri to give the necklace containing the memory card to Woori. Byeon Mi Ja wants to scare Woori with the arrival of Chairman Kim who is after the contents of the memory card. Another plan by Byeon Mi Ja is for Woori and Raphael's relationship to be fractured because the Diamond Medical Foundation is involved in collaborating with a fugitive criminal.
