The worldwide popularity of Korean Pop aka K-Pop will be more expansive in the coming years. This can be seen from statistical data which shows that the Ginseng Country's music industry has successfully recorded an increase in album sales of 67 percent.

According to Kim Jin Woo, chief researcher at Gaon Chart on Thursday (17/2/2022), the sales of the 400 best-selling albums in January this year reached a total sales of 4,054,212 copies. This means that it shot up 66.9 percent compared to the same period from the previous year.

In particular, ENHYPEN's first full-length repackaged album 'DIMENSION: ANSWER' topped the monthly sales list with a total of 723,478 copies.

The second highest ranking was SM Town's winter album '2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU Express' which sold 347,434 copies.

"Given that sales in January were the lowest throughout the year, this is a positive increase in sales. It seems that this is a result of the growth of the K-pop music market, which has grown significantly compared to before," said Kim. /2/2022).

Kim Jin Woo then mentioned that these statistics are a positive sentiment, where he predicts that K-Pop will go far in 2022.

"In the second half of this year, there is a possibility that the music market will rebound once or twice as we approach the end of the Covid-19 pandemic," he said. /celebrties.id
