ENHYPEN's Sunghoon opened up about the reason he switched professions from a beautiful skater to a K-Pop idol.
Before debuting as a member of ENHYPEN, Sunghoon was known to have been in the skateboarding world for a long time and had a fairly popular name.
Through the DIVE Studio episode of the program 'K-Pop Daebak with Eric Nam', the soloist questioned the career transition he chose.
This ENHYPEN member revealed that he was indeed attracted by Big Hit Entertainment (now Big Hit Music) but at first had no intention of joining a boy group.
“I joined a dance group, thinking it would help me with my figure skating. I joined, but I don't really have any intention of becoming an artist," the singer revealed. He added that it was BTS who inspired him by sharing, “It's so motivating to watch BTS and the other trainees train so hard. I became friends with them, and that's when I started wanting to be an idol."
Sunghoon first received training at Big Hit Entertainment for 2 years before joining the Mnet survival program 'I-LAND'.
Sunghoon again added, “Working on my figure skating is a personal job for me. However, idol groups include many people who work together. Now I have people to rely on instead of doing everything alone.”
