Joy Red Velvet officially debuted solo by releasing a single titled "Hello" which is a remake song. However, his solo debut stage on "Music Bank" was considered unsatisfactory.
Like the others, Joy is promoting her solo debut by appearing on music shows. The 1996-born idol looked stunning during his solo stage on "Music Bank" on June 4.
However, Joy's solo debut stage was apparently considered unsatisfactory by a number of netizens. There are several reasons that make them a bit disappointed, one of which is lip-syncing. Netizens also feel that the stage setting is not optimal. SM Entertainment asked for more totality for Joy's solo debut.
"The choreography is not difficult, why is he lip-syncing? It looks more awkward. It's very disappointing that he doesn't sing live here," commented netizens. "I watched 'Yu Huiyeol's Sketchbook'. Joy sings live very well. I want to see her on stage more often. Joy's voice is very sweet," added another netizen. "Why is he lip-syncing? Even though his voice is good," wrote netizens.
"The quality of the stage is very disappointing. This is Joy's solo debut. I want SM to spend more money on her," said netizens. "The concept is good but the stage is a bit disappointing," said another. "The MV is good, but the stage and clothes are so bad. Why doesn't SM spend money on the stage?" concluded another.
Meanwhile, Joy's special solo album was released on May 31. The album contains six tracks which are remakes of hits released between the 1990s and 2000s.
Previously, Joy had released several OSTs for the drama "The Liar and His Lover" which she starred with Lee Hyun Woo. For her performance as the lead actress, Joy received the Newcomer Award at the OSEN Cable TV Awards. (wk/chus)
