Today, Friday (21/5), BTS (Bangtan Boys) is attending a global press conference for the release of their 2nd English single, "Butter". On that occasion, they discussed many things from album production to the support they got from the world's legendary rock band, Queen.
Previously, after the release of the MV "Butter" teaser, many listeners questioned whether the song had sampled Queen's "Another One Bits The Dust" or not. Then, Queen herself spoke up to increase fans' curiosity by retweeting the teaser video.
Queen's official social media commented, "Are you ready, are you ready for this. Another One Bites The Dust x #BTS_Butter". When the question came up during a global press conference, RM (Rap Monster) gave the explanation.
"We heard that Queen seonsaeng-nim (call for seniors) retweeted our teaser, and it went viral. To be honest, there was no sampling or paying tribute to Queen," he said.
Jin then answered questions about a possible collaboration with the legendary band. "As of now, nothing has been planned regarding that matter. But opportunities are always open, so please contact us, Queen Seonsaeng-nim," he replied.
"Butter" itself is expected to immediately attract listeners with its captivating intro base-line and refreshing synth sound. BTS has decided to hook up a global team of music producers and composers once again in the production of this song.
"Butter" gave his songwriting credits to Rob Grimaldi, Stephen Kirk, Ron Perry, Jenna Andrews, Alex Bilowitz, Sebastian Garcia, and BTS leader RM. Reflecting its title, the song projects a subtle yet prominent sound, revealing another layer of BTS's artistic and musical talent.
Regarding the music video for “Butter,” Big Hit Music has stated, “The highlight of this elevator concept music video is the different choreography performed by each BTS member, in their respective frames and underneath the luxurious stage spotlight”. On the other hand, BTS itself has been confirmed to present their comeback stage of "Butter" at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards 2021 (BBMA 2021), on May 24. Not only that, they were also included in the 4 categories of the award event. (wk / daughter)
