DC's Exciting Platform recently held a vote to determine the most shocking disbandment of K-Pop groups in history.

Of the many disbandments of K-pop groups, Exciting DC has now revealed the list of 10 disbandments of K-pop groups that have surprised many people the most.

S # ARP

With a total of 1% of the vote, S # ARP was ranked 10th as the K-Pop group disbandment that surprised many people the most.

S # ARP is a co-ed group that broke up in 2002, only 4 years after they debuted. The reason is because members Lee Ji Hye and Seo Ji Young were involved in verbal and physical conflicts, as Lee Ji Hye reported that Seo Ji Young had bullied her and told the other members to do the same. To this day, the scandal remains one of the biggest of the first generation of K-Pop.

Miss A.

With a total of 2% of the vote, the girl group Miss A from JYP Entertainment managed to rank 9th on the voting results.

Miss A officially disbanded in December 2017, seven years after they debuted. However, this JYP Entertainment girl group has been inactive since 2015 and Jia left in 2016. Miss A was one of the biggest girl groups of its time which often topped music charts, including their last song, “Only You“. Therefore, many people were shocked when they heard the news of the disbandment of Miss A.

PRISTIN

With a total of 2% of the vote, the disbandment of girl group PRISTIN was ranked 8th which brought shock to many people.

PRISTIN is the girl group most anticipated to debut after several members appeared on the program 'Produce 101'. However, this girl group surprisingly disbanded in 2019, only 3 years after they debuted.

X1

The boy group made by the program 'Produce X101', X1, managed to rank 7th with 3% of the votes.

X1 debuted shortly after the final episode of “Produce X101” in August 2019, so no one expected that the group would disband only four months later in January 2020. Unfortunately, X1 was the victim of a vote manipulation scandal on Mnet's “Produce X101” program. After the agencies of each of the X1 members failed to reach an agreement, the group finally disbanded.

Wanna One

Not only X1, boy group Wanna One is also on the list with a total of 6% of the votes and is ranked 6th.

Wanna One is a boy group formed through the program 'Produce 101' season 2. Although fans already know that Wanna One is a temporary group, many fans hope that this group will extend their contract more than 1 year of promotion.

SISTAR

When it comes to the most shocking disbandment, of course the girl group SISTAR is one of them.

This girl group made by Starship Entertainment was ranked 5th in the voting results, with a vote gain of 8%.

SISTAR is known to disband in 2017, 7 years after they debuted. SISTAR is a girl group known as the queen of summer, because they often make comebacks every summer and have topped the South Korean music charts.

2NE1

With a total of 9% of the vote, girl group 2NE1 is on the list of K-Pop group disbandments that are the most shocking.

2NE1 is known to disband in 2016, after debuting in 2009. 2NE1 last made a comeback in 2014, before Park Bom was finally involved in the case of using amphetamine drugs sent from America.

With so many hits created by girl group YG Entertainment, of course many fans regret their disbandment.

Seo Taiji & Boys

Seo Taiji & Boys managed to rank 3rd with total votes reaching 14%.

Seo Taiji & Boys is considered one of the first boy groups in South Korea, so it's no surprise that their disbandment was the earliest surprise for K-Pop fans. In fact, the group members (Lee Ju No and YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk) were surprised when Seo Taiji decided to disband the group. Until now, their album is still the highest selling album in South Korea, reaching a total sales of 2 million copies.

IZ * ONE

IZ * ONE was the next 'Produce' group to make the list, ranking 2nd and receiving 15% of votes.

This girl group made by the 'Produce 48' program is known to have disbanded at the end of April 2021, after their contract officially ended. Even though many fans demanded contract extensions until there was a massive petition, in the end IZ * ONE members chose to go their separate ways.

GFRIEND

The disbandment of the girl group GFRIEND took first place with a total vote of 37%.

Many fans did not think that this girl group under Source Music had to be disbanded after their contract ended. Even worse, the Source Music agency announced the disbandment of GFRIEND just four days before their contract ended.

Of course, many people regret the disbandment of this girl group GFRIEND, especially considering their activities from the start of their debut to making the Source Music agency as big as it is now. (www.kpopchart.net)
