APRIL's agency released an official statement discussing the issue of rumors of bullying that occurred within the group.

APRIL member, Hyunjoo

On February 28, 2021, the younger brother of former APRIL member, Hyunjoo, revealed that his brother's departure from APRIL was due to being a victim of bullying in his group.

Through his younger sibling's story, Hyunjoo experienced an anxiety disorder and tried to commit suicide because of it.

However, APRIL's agency DSP Media today (01/03) has released an official statement answering rumors about the artist.

Hello, this is DSP Media. We are issuing our official statement regarding the situation between Hyunjoo and APRIL members. We will talk in detail about how Hyunjoo was chosen in APRIL and how she left.

Hyunjoo became our label artist as an actress trainee. When APRIL was made, Hyunjoo wanted to become an actress, we assured her, she and her family agreed to be a part of APRIL.

After he debuted, due to his physical and mental condition, he had difficulty participating in APRIL activities. Because of this, there were lots of conflicts and other members were also affected.

Everyone goes through difficult and suffering times, and we decide that no one can be considered a victim or a perpetrator. Hyunjoo finally stated that he wanted to leave the group during “Tinkerbell” promotions. We tried to stop him, but he insisted. It is our responsibility that Hyunjoo and the APRIL members have a hard time.

After that, we supported her so that she could become an actress. We also support him because he wants to be an idol after that. It's true we supported him as much as possible after he left the team.

Unconfirmed guesses could injure Hyunjoo and APRIL. We ask that you do not spread false rumors. We apologize for our late statement. Thank you. (www.kpopchart.net)
