SF9's Rowoon recently participated in an interview and photo shoot for Esquire magazine. On this occasion, Rowoon talked about his acting career and drama "She Would Never Know" which he is currently starring in.
“She Would Never Know” is Rowoon's second time playing the lead role after “Extraordinary You”. That's why he really did the maximum preparation so that his acting on the screen can look good.
"I have learned a lot of them. There are online classes where Ha Jung Woo and Lee Byung Hun share thoughts about acting in depth. I followed that. I was very connected when they said that acting was a battle of persuasion," said Rowoon.
"It's not enough to just sink into the character's emotions and express it as much as possible. There are times when you need to reveal everything, but there are times when you have to hide something to convey emotions more deeply. You have to think about it," he added.
"When I starred in 'Extraordinary You', I thought that I needed to live up to and deepen the character. Now ('She Would Never Know') is a little different. I realized that it wasn't enough for me to just mean it. Sharing emotions with a character is just the basics. "The real key is how to convince the audience that emotions are real," he explained.
Rowoon then shared the physical changes he went through while filming "She Would Never Know". "At the first shoot, I felt that I didn't look strong enough. After the drama started, I would exercise without missing a beat. My character is a young man and a rookie employee, but he loves his seniors and wants to protect him," explained Rowoon.
"I feel that I shouldn't look smaller than Lee Hyun Wook when we stand side by side. Even though you are tall, you can still look small. I have been doing push-ups and squats and shoulders without rest for about six months," he concluded.
Meanwhile, "She Would Never Know" only has four episodes left and will end on March 9th. Later this drama broadcast slot will be replaced by "Off The Course", starring Nam Ji Hyun. (wk / eval)
